Weekend Writing Retreat
November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) where many writers aim to write 50,000 words in 30 days. This weekend writing retreat is designed to give writers two full days with limited interruptions to focus on their projects. We’re getting a little wild with our writing alone but together motto.
When: 6:00 PM Friday, November 17th to 9:30 AM Monday, November 20th
Where: Wildlife Prairie Park (3826 N Taylor Rd, Hanna City, IL 61536) - only 20 minutes from Peoria!
What’s included:
A three night stay in a modern cabin with community space to gather. Each writer has their own bedroom.
Meals, snacks, and beverages. Closer to the retreat, you’ll receive a questionnaire about dietary needs and preferences.
Friday to Monday admission to Wildlife Prairie Park - you can even arrive early or stay after the retreat to enjoy the park.
A blend of quiet time to write and community time with your fellow writers. Our priority is helping each person get what they want out of the weekend, so we will have time to share goals, talk about projects, and celebrate progress together.
Views of our bison and elk neighbors. Did we mention that Wildlife Prairie Park is a peaceful place to be?
A goodie bag!
Good to know:
If all spots sell out and you want to be on the waitlist, simply send us a message on our Contact Us page.
We will comply with park policies, including no smoking/vaping for the duration of the retreat.
Please read the entire retreat description, including the FAQs.
We want this retreat to be a comfortable, safe space for writers to work and connect. Our community guidelines extend to the retreat location and signing up indicates your agreement to abide by them.
