An atmosphere designed to keep you writing! We are the only known place in the area completely set up with writers in mind, from the various types of workstations to the items that a writer might need but not think to bring to the soft instrumental music that plays during our scheduled writing hours. We’ve curated a space conducive to creativity so our writers can focus with minimal distractions.
What to expect…
Our physical space includes various seating and desk options, refreshments, Wi-Fi, and supplies our writers are welcome to utilize as needed to continue their craft.
For instance:
We have chairs with and without cushions, with and without arms, and of various seat heights and widths. While most of our workstations are chairs at desks, we have a chaise and arm chairs of different widths.
In our supply area, we have lightweight laptop tables that can be pulled up to the chaise or the arm chairs.
We also have laptop stands, keyboards and mice, desk dividers, lap desks, fans, lights, notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, notecards, sticky notes, phone chargers, fidget toys, and little artificial plants for writers to use while they are here.
We have a reference section of writing related books and magazines.
In our snack and beverage area, we have a Keurig with various hot beverage choices, a mini refrigerator with water and canned soda, and a selection of prepackaged snack foods.
Lastly, there is a “take and leave a note” board where writers can place sticky notes with words of encouragement or advice.
One of our directors will always be onsite to help you find what you need. We also have a feedback/request box if you have an idea you’d like to share or make a request for a particular resource or snack.
Anyone with a Writership can access our interactive calendar (peek at the SHEDule) to book time to write or attend our monthly rotating events and SHEDucation offerings. We have 13 spots available for our writers to reserve.
